In My Mind
Singer/Songwriter Guy Michetti released his first extended play CD of
original music (4 songs, including the title song, "I'm Coming
Home") in October of 2003. Michetti has donated all profits from
the EP, after production costs, to Disabled American Veterans. The title
song is about a wounded soldier's exuberance about coming back from
a tour of duty in Iraq. The CD has gotten airplay at WSIA 88.9 FM in
New York City and his music has been streamed and downloaded off the
Internet by people all over the world. The CD includes the song "Can't
You See The Lonely?" which was awarded honorable mention in the
2004 Billboard Magazine World Song Contest.
Guys musical style of writing and performance has been described
as classic traditional American rock, influenced by the likes of Bob
Dylan, Bruce Springsteen and Woody Guthrie with nice storytelling, good
dynamic landscape, and lots of musical variety. Famed producer and songwriter
Wally Gold acutely recognized his songwriting talent. Mr. Gold who worked
for Don Kirshner, discovered Kansas( the band, not the state) and has
written hit songs for people like Elvis Presely and Leslie Gore, expressed
appreciation for Michettis songwriting abilities after hearing
a live performance. Guy has shared the concert stage with jazz great
Dizzy Gillespie and folk artist Arlo Guthrie.
Lex Zaleta said this of Michetti: "Guy Michetti is a walking, talking
American jukebox. He has mastered every style of music. Whenever I listen
to Guy perform, I feel I could be back in Dustbowl Times with Woody
Guthrie or in Greenwich Village with Ochs and Dylan. I could just as
easily be in 2093 enjoying his newest release - Guy's music is that
timeless. Rarely is that degree of talent wrapped up in so much humility. If
Guy were given ten Grammy Awards tomorrow, I would still feel it was
too little, too late. You have your own sound - but pretty soon it will
be a sound shared by millions. That big break has to right around the
next musical corner for you."
He is about
to release his new CD "All In My Mind" and has been playing
dates in the New York City metro area to promote his recordings.

Remember the Music
Singer-songwriter Rick Monroe possesses the ability to take
life experiences that we all share and create songs that speak
to his listeners. Monroe connects with his audiences and leaves
them wanting more whether it is in an intimate setting with
his acoustic guitar or a festival with his band halfway around
2 years of working with several Producers, Musicians, Studios
and in a few different States, Monroe has finished his long
awaited 3rd full length CD "Against the Grain." The first
single "I Remember The Music" was written by: Ashley Gorley
& Wade Kirby and produced by Clyde Brooks. Under Clyde's direction
and a host of "Nashville's Finest", the sound picked up where
"Shame" left off with even more of the Country, American Roots
sound that Monroe has always pursued. Rick even took the helm
with guitarist Jeff Marshall to produce several of the tracks
as well as working with Craig Bartock & Harlan Lansky of Matrix
Music Works . Monroe says: "As an artist I have attempted
all types of music and feels but I've mainly tried to get
that perfect blend of Country & Rock. That's why I did my
2nd Cd "Shame" in Texas with some of the guys from the Texas
Tornados. You know, that down home Heartland feel of Country
with the thumping Heartbeat of Rock. With a little blues and
soul thrown in for good measure. This CD is the most focused
I've been on really getting a uniformed sound and picking
the perfect group of songs. I've also taken a lot more time
and have been very hands on. So I can only hope as a Country
fan or just a plain ole music fan you will enjoy it as much
as I enjoyed making it." "Against the Grain" reflects years
of experience and growth that is only found in the most seasoned
of artists. With his special blend of Showmanship, Contemporary
& Classic Country, a dash of Southern Roots Rock and twist
of Texas Swing, Monroe and his band have been kicking up a
storm on the Country Dance Hall Scene.
