WINNER OF WEEK 97 :
"sweet rain " by Christina Marie Franck!

Christina Marie Franck is a singer/ songwriter/ pianist from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Christina's musical style could be considered as piano driven pop with a unique "folky/ jazzy" flair.

Christina's self-titled debut "mini-album" was just released on April 4th, 2003 and is jam packed with mellow, soul-searching melodies and lyrics.

Since she was just a young child growing up in the Calgary, Alberta, music was always a huge part of her life, and she's been singing longer than she can remember. At age 7, Christina began taking formal piano lessons and completed her Royal Conservatory Grade 8 certificate in piano when she was 17. After high school, she attended Grant MacEwan College in Edmonton and obtained her diploma in Music Performance with a vocal major. It was at Grant MacEwan college that Christina was exposed to a rainbow of musical styles which she subtely incorporates into her music including jazz, latin, and pop.

Christina has had a wide range of performance experiences from singing lead for a full jazz swing band at the Winspear Center in Edmonton to singing backups for a Christian worship team travelling across Alberta. She loves singing in all types of venues, especially when she can point others to God.

Christina is currently teaching piano and voice lessons full time, and is working on seriously persuing her career as a solo artist. Christina attends Beulah Alliance Church in Edmonton, and plays piano, keyboards, and sings almost every Sunday there. As far as future plans go, Christina is open to whatever direction God wants to take her... whether it be ministering to kids through piano lessons every day, or being able to share her music to a big crowd of people.

To hear more of Christina's music, please visit her web site: http://www.christinamariemusic.com and sign her guestbook!
