WINNER OF WEEK 96 :
"At All" by Nicole Collins!

A stunning combination of emotion and professionalism, Nicole Collins has been involved in music all of her life. She began performing at age 10 in talent shows and in choirs. She played the viola for seven years, giving her the formal training in music theory that has helped her become the versatile pop singer and songwriter she is today. Nicole began recording with Wilderness Entertainment in Tallahassee, Fla., in 1999, and she is now recording independently in Brooklyn, N.Y. Her debut album, Leave It Behind, which she is recording and producing herself, is due out in summer 2003.

Here are some of her accomplishments:

  • She performed two songs from her CD, Leave It Behind, at St. Petersburg's Freedom Festival on Nov. 2, 2002.
  • Nicole was featured in 2Face-Kishar's Welcome To The Party, which was a favorite on the Tallahassee R&B; and rap radio stations in 1999-2000. The song was also part of Wilderness' All Points South CD, which was released in 1999.
  • While in high school, she toured the country starring in Carved In Stone, a musical drama in which she had a lead role and performed three of the show's four songs.
  • At age 15, she received the second-highest score among soprano 1 singers in her district based on her audition for District Chorus.

Nicole writes almost all of her material and is involved in every step of production. She easily crosses the line between pop and R&B, between soaring ballads and dance hits. A few modeling stints have bolstered her stage poise, and her vast time on the stage has prepared her for the spotlight.

the 9:th Final
